 Diagnosis

The PAD screening process starts with the Ankle Brachial Index (ABI), which is completed by taking a serious precise blood pressure readings. If indicated, an arterial ultrasound is ordered and completed by the VasCare sonography team. The next step is an angiogram completed by one of our vascular surgeons in our state of the art diagnostic suite. An angiogram is completed with a type of X-ray machine.

Treatment

Treatment for identified PAD will include recommended lifestyle changes and medications. In some cases, a surgical intervention is required to re-establish blood flow into the blocked arteries. Endovascular procedures can be completed in our state of the art surgical suite located in VasCare’s outpatient clinic. In some serious situations, a more invasive surgical procedure may be required.
